I have a LAPL license and fly in Germany.
It is not possible to extend my licence for a water flight authorization.
This requires a PPL (a).

Question to EASA: from when there is a possible the LAPL license to extend a water flight authorization.

Dear Thomas,

We will start this year an ex-post evaluation of the FCL. This should give us the opportunity to review and address this kind of issue.

Best regards,

Dear Dominique, thanks for responding to Thomas whom I encouraged to sign up here and post, on this overdue topic. I have received a fairly large number of inquiries on extending the Seaplane Rating to LAPL-A holders in the last several months. It was the main question during ILA in Berlin, where I had the pleasure of helping the German Waterflying Association but it frequently comes up per Email via my Seaplanemagazine.com. Making the licensing possible on the LAPL-A level would be a good investment into our industry!
