EASA Part-21 Light Database of Declared Noise Levels

Annex Ib (Part 21 Light) of Regulation (EU) 748/2012 introduces the possibility for a declaration of design compliance to be submitted as an alternative to certification. This comprises also the declaration of compliance with the applicable Environmental Protection Requirements.

EASA publishes Part-21 Light Database of Declared Noise Levels, where aircraft manufacturers declare the applicable noise levels (data sheet for noise) that were established in compliance with the applicable noise standards as defined in ICAO Annex 16, Volume I.

In contrast to the EASA databases of certification noise levels, this data is not validated by EASA. The declared data is used as the basis against which the national aviation authorities of EASA Member States issue individual noise certificates to aircraft on their registers using the EASA Form 45B (Restricted Noise Certificate). The data required for issuing the EASA Form 45B is listed in the Agency’s Part-21 Light Database of Declared Noise Levels.

Questions concerning the content of the Agency’s Part-21 Light Database of Declared Noise Levels, as well as the notification of any possible errors and omissions, should be sent to noise [at] easa.europa.eu (noise[at]easa[dot]europa[dot]eu).
