Arthur Beckand is Acting Resources and Support Director at EASA since 1 September 2024.
He joined EASA in 2005 and has occupied several successive positions, starting as legal advisor and rulemaking officer.
He is an expert in aviation law with over 25 years of experience in the field of aviation. In 2016, he became Section Manager at the Legal Department and in 2017, he was appointed as 'Deputy Head of the Legal Department'. In 2019, he was appointed as 'Head of Corporate Services Department'. In 2020, the Applicant Services Department and the Corporate Services Department were merged, and he was appointed as 'Head of the new Relationships & Corporate Services Department'. In 2022, he became the 'Head of Legal & Procurement Department'.
Prior to EASA, he held various positions at the Dutch Ministry of Transport, Public Works, and Water Management, from 1999 to 2005. As senior legal advisor, he was responsible for legal proceedings before the Dutch administrative courts.
He studied law at the Leiden Law School of the Leiden University, and holds a Masters of Law (LLM).
