EU and US promote data sharing at aviation summit (English Only)

Improved data exchange between regulators can contribute to higher aviation safety. Aviation leaders have therefore put “open data sharing” at the top of the agenda at this year’s EU-US International Aviation Safety Conference, which takes place in Prague from 5-7 June.
More than 400 international experts will be examining the role that data exchange and new technologies can play in producing better safety regulation. Special emphasis will be given to the involvement of aviation growth regions, including Asia and Africa.
Opening the conference in Prague, Patrick Goudou, Executive Director of the European Aviation Safety Agency said, “the Czech Republic is an important country for aviation in Europe. The Agency wants to benefit from the experience of national civil aviation authorities and to draw from this expertise when we discuss issues at global level”.
The annual EU-US Aviation Safety Conference aims to promote co-operation and mutual recognition of safety standards. The conference location alternates between Europe and the United States. Next year's venue will be announced in Prague.
