Rotorcraft Sectorial Committee lifts off

EASA hosted the Kick-off meeting of the Rotorcraft Sectorial Committee on 24-25 January 2017 in Cologne. The Committee is composed of 25 high level representatives from the European Rotorcraft community and is one of the new EASA Stakeholders Advisory Bodies. The group will provide industry inputs into the EASA Safety Risk Management Process.

In his welcoming speech, Massimo Mazzoletti, Head of the EASA Rotorcraft Department, underlined the importance of this new committee for EASA to address current and future challenges with regard to safety issues and the regulatory framework.

In addition to the full agenda covering most of the current EASA rotorcraft related activities, the Committee’s Chairman and vice Chairs were elected:

  • As Chairman, Dé Jansen, European Helicopter Association, currently Director CHC Standards
  • As Vice-chairman Peter Möller, European Helicopter Association, Flight Operations Manager of Luxembourg Air Ambulance and previously Managing Director of Air Lloyd Deutsche Helicopter Flugservice GmbH
  • As Vice-chairman Gilles Bruniaux, ASD, Vice President Aviation Safety of Airbus Helicopters reporting to the Airbus Helicopters CEO
