EASA published an Opinion to improve the FCL Implementing Rules

An EASA opinion covering the resolution of inconsistencies identified after the adoption of the Flight Crew Licensing Implementing Rules was published on 29 June 2017 and submitted to the European Commission for comitology procedure.

The proposed changes are expected to increase safety, reduce regulatory burden on Member States, improve harmonisation, ensure compliance with ICAO, and improve proportionality of the rules for General Aviation by applying the principles of the ‘General Aviation Road Map’ as requested by the Agency’s Executive Director Patrick Ky.
The final Agency Decision amending the AMC/GM concerning the proposed changes to the already adopted AMC and GM will be published by EASA when the related regulation is adopted by the European Commission.
