The High Level Conference on ‘Drones as a leverage for jobs and new business opportunities’ took place 23-24 Nov in Warsaw, Poland, and was co-organised by EASA and the Polish Ministry of Infrastructure and the Polish CAA. The conference, concluded with the so-called ‘Warsaw Declaration’ urging for further development of the significant potential of the drone services to support EU competitiveness and global leadership, and calling for a swift development of a drone ecosystem, that is simple to use, affordable, commercially and operationally friendly, yet capable of addressing all societal concerns such as safety, security, privacy and environmental protection. It also welcomed the progress being made towards a flexible framework of safety regulation at EU level based on the operation centric approach.
