2nd Space Weather Workshop

Raising the awareness of space weather effects on aviation, and the introduction of ICAO space weather information services

Description of event
The Agency will hold a workshop over 3 days on the topic of space weather and its effects on the aviation system.

The aims of the workshop are to:

  • Raise awareness of the effects of space weather on the aviation system;
  • Raise awareness of the implementation of ICAO space weather information services, applicable 8 November 2018

The workshop is open to air operators, air navigation service providers, national aviation authorities and representatives of industry bodies (IATA, CANSO, IFALPA etc) from whom proposals for contributions/presentations are welcome.  It is also hoped that space weather researchers with particular interest in the effects of space weather on the aviation system will also be able to participate.

EASA is pleased to note that the agenda of the workshop, has been developed in coordination with ICAO, EUROCONTROL, European Commission and the European Space Agency; and that each will make presentations.

Cancellation and Refund policy
Substitutions and cancellations can be made until 21/08/2018. Please notify us as soon as possible at manuel [dot] estrada [at] easa [dot] europa [dot] eu.

Cancellations of an accepted registration must be made in writing to manuel [dot] estrada [at] easa [dot] europa [dot] eu and will incur into a 25% non-refundable administrative fee per cancelled registration.
Delegates who request a cancellation on or after 22/08/2018 or delegates who fail to attend without prior notice are liable for the full attendance fee. Refunds of fees will be made after 15/11/2018. The attendance fee will not be prorated should delegates not attend the entire conference
