Suspected Unapproved Parts Details
On November 21, 2018 South African Civil Aviation Authority (SACAA) has published a GENERAL NOTICE # AIR-201S/001 to alert operators and aircraft owners about the recall of safety and survival equipment which were maintained by TNM Aviation AMO 1271, Lanseria Airport - from the period 2017 to 2018. It has come to the attention of the SACAA that there are requirements of Part 43.02.3 of the Civil Aviation Regulations, 2011, which were not complied with during the maintenance and release of equipment. Consequently, all Release Certificates (CA 21-19) or any other form of release issued in relation to these safety and survival equipment are therefore cancelled and are now regarded as null and void.
This notice recommends all aircraft operators and owners that have utilised the services of TNM Aviation between 2017 and 2018 to remove and return all affected equipment to TNM Aviation AMO 1271 or send such equipment to an approved organisation for maintenance checks and re-certification.
