Checklist Memory Items

EASA.2013/1

This study represents a preliminary analysis and review regarding the use of checklist memory items. The purpose of this study primarily refers to the human capacity for an increase in memory items, and therefore primarily relates to the retrieval of this information which will be stored in the long-term memory. It begins with a preliminary overview of human memory, including those generally accepted theories pertaining to its processes and a review of existing literature relevant to the task; and subsequently assesses these findings within an aviation context with particular regard to the Safety Recommendation issued on behalf of the Danish Accident Investigation Board involving aircraft OY-CIM on 13 September 2011.
