ECCAIRS

The European Aviation Safety Agency uses the ECCAIRS software to store occurrence data. The ICAO ADREP 2000 taxonomy has been implemented in ECCAIRS. The correct use of the taxonomy is important and a sound data analysis is only possible if the same principles are applied for data entry. The Agency integrates data from several sources and organizations. Therefore, the Safety Analysis section plays an active role in activities regarding taxonomy developments and standardized use of coding. More information on ECCAIRS can be found here.

Training courses

Several ECCAIRS training courses are provided by the Joint Research Center. The Safety Analysis section supports these courses by providing, on occasional basis, trainers and development of training material. Some of the training courses are also hosted by the Agency in Cologne.

ECCAIRS workshop

In November 2006 the first European workshop on coding of occurrences was organized by the Safety Analysis Section. Guidelines for coding and standard occurrences have been discussed during this workshop. A similar workshop, also serving as a forum for discussion, will be organized annually.
