Acting Strategy & Safety Management Director – Christopher Holgate-Romanov

Christopher Holgate-Romanov has a background in law and languages. He joined EASA in 2004 as part of the team of pioneers that founded the agency.

He has held a number of corporate management roles, recently leading the transformation programme that introduced simplified rulemaking and pre-application services to address the challenges of innovation in aviation.

He now heads the Strategy and Programmes department with responsibility for strategy, programming and monitoring, and developing regulatory material.

In addition, he also responsible for managing the growing EASA research portfolio.

Holgate-Romanov has been appointed Acting Strategy & Safety Management Director as of September 1, 2023.
