The highly successful EASA ETSO workshop is back for the 8th time. It will be held on 27 & 28 June 2012 at the Köln Marriott Hotel, Johannisstraße 76-80 in Cologne. The workshop is scheduled for two full days; a detailed agenda will be provided closer to date.

Since it first occurrence in 2004, this event has grown in popularity and attendance. It has become a regular forum for the worldwide community of ETSO/TSO manufacturers, installers and operators, where topics of common interest in the various fields of aviation equipment are presented and discussed, aiming at updating participants, and getting their feedback on industry and authority initiatives concerning operational, design, manufacturing and regulatory matters with the common scope of fostering safety. Beside EASA and the FAA, also TCCA, CAAC and ANAC will be present.

According to the feedback from the last ETSO workshop, we kept the organisation in a general part, covering topics of interest for all participants, like updates from Rulemaking, ADOA, foreign authorities; and two split sessions with in depth discussions for the areas avionics as well as seats/mechanical systems. Copies of all presentations held as well as additional background material will be made available on the EASA website for download after the workshop; considering the environmental impact we have decided not to print any hand-outs this year.

As to better prepare the workshop, we would like to get your questions, views and proposals in advance. Also if there are topics that you, industry would like to present. We would also like to know about areas in which you see problems that should be addressed or areas where you need further information. So if we could kindly ask you to submit your questions or proposals not later than 01 June 2012 to etsoa .at. easa .point. europa .point. eu. This will allow us to prepare for the workshop.

Participants need to take care of their accommodation and travel arrangements themselves. EASA is not able to cover for neither of them. The Marriott Hotel has reserved a block of sleeping rates at a rate of EUR 135 incl. breakfast. The rate is only valid on 27 June. Cancellations must be made in writing under the fax number +49 221 89990 4646. Cancellation of an accepted registration may be made up to 15 June 2012 and will incur a 25% non-refundable administrative fee per cancelled registration. Delegates who request a cancellation on or after 15 June 2012 or delegates who fail to attend without prior notice are liable for the full attendance fee.
