Common Training Initiative Group (CTIG)
Introduction
The Common Training Initiative Group is composed of EASA and ECAC authorities at training management level sharing and potentially coordinating training initiatives, mainly aimed at the qualification of personnel involved in approval and oversight activities. Decisions of the Group are considered as guidance material only, advising on agreed best practices.
Scope of activities
The following list of activities is envisaged as the initial scope of the CTIG:
- Establish a common understanding of the role of Authority inspectors, engineers and other experts, and their background in terms of qualification(s) and experience;
- Identify common best practice and new trends in training, knowledge assessment, competence assessment and qualification of Authority inspectors, engineers and other experts;
- Identify, develop, implement and coordinate common training activities, such as the identification of needs, courses and programmes;
- Share information on courses of common interest to EASA and National Aviation Authorities;
- Report its activity to the EASA Management Board.
Composition of the Group
- The membership of the group is open to EASA and to the Aviation Authorities of all ECAC countries.
- The Group may decide to accept, as permanent members, pan-European organisations other than EASA and NAA, with the exclusion of commercial training providers.
- Each member designates a permanent representative and possibly an alternate committed to following the activity of the Common Training Initiative Group and ensuring proper continuity. This person is involved in directly managing training or related tasks in his/her organisation such as proficiency development programmes, co-ordination etc.
- Members are encouraged to invite specialist(s) for specific subjects under discussion for a particular Common Training Initiative Group meeting.
- Members designate the persons in their organisation authorised to have access to the common repository and communication tools.
